target audience!

One of the tenets of marketing is to identify your target audience and build your marketing mix to meet their needs and wants. Honing in on this target audience can be harder than it seems when you believe that you can help anyone. This is often the case with my clients- and it is true, they can probably help anyone. However, their marketing will be more effective if they first start with a single target audience.  Who is/was your first target audience?

Do you need to consider expanding? or updating that info based on where your business is today and where you want to go in 2023?

Since it’s election week- I’ll remind you that the GOP *was* the party of Lincoln and their first target audience included abolitionists and others who believed that racism and slavery were wrong. Their Southern Strategy shifted their target audience significantly. I’ll leave it at that!
